Your Mind Is Being Programmed, Take Control Before Someone Else Does

March 23, 2025

Every single day, your mind is being shaped, whether you realize it or not.

“Oh but I think positively all the time, that’s all I need….right?”

Well, this shaping isn't just about thinking positively or forcing positivity when deep down you're frustrated, angry, or anxious only masks the true issue.

If you bury what's genuinely troubling you under fake optimism, you’re never addressing the core problem. Eventually, the same frustrations resurface, unchanged and unhealed.

This isn't how you transform your life. This is how you stay stuck in the same loop never addressing the root issue.

Your Mind Isn’t Fully Yours

Your mind operates like an algorithm, it seeks to prove whatever belief you're holding.

You feel unworthy? Your mind finds evidence everywhere to show you that.

Frustrated with your job? Suddenly, everything about work annoys you.

Your mind reinforces your reality, good or bad.

But if you’re not consciously programming your mind, rest assured something else is doing it for you. Social media algorithms, TV shows, news headlines, music, they’re all competing to shape your thoughts, desires, and beliefs.

Most men move through life unaware of how deeply external influences affect their internal world.

We claim we’re in control, yet willingly let politics, social media, and or even societal narratives dictate how we feel, what we value, and even what we think we want.

Whose vision of life am I living?

Is it mine, or is it crafted by something external?

You begin to realize that we become what consumes you.

Your Mind is a Garden

Imagine your mind as fertile soil. Whatever seeds you plant, whether intentionally or by default, grow into your beliefs, habits, and ultimately your reality.

Anger, scarcity, and doubt are weeds that spread when left unchecked. I know this personally when I was in my early 20’s and 30’s, I was angry if life didn’t go the way that I wanted it to. I was scared to show up fully because of the fear of failure.

Not a fun way to live life.

But those were the internal thoughts I was having and that’s what keep on showing up for me.

It's like noticing a specific car you like, its on your mind, you see yourself driving it and suddenly you start seeing that same car everywhere.

Life itself works exactly the same way.

When you consciously plant seeds of clarity, gratitude, and growth, your mind shifts its focus to bring more of that into your reality.

But when you let negativity, distraction, and doubt take root, your mind delivers exactly that, more frustration, more overwhelm, more evidence of what you lack.

Your mind will find proof for whatever you deeply believe.

Yet, once you understand how your mind operates, you can actively shape it to support the life you desire.

Instead of simply masking frustration with positivity, acknowledge your feelings first. Identify what's causing the anger, frustration, or anxiety. Facing your emotions is the key step before reprogramming your thoughts.

  • If work frustrates you, don't just force a positive outlook, figure out why. Maybe you're seeking greater purpose, challenge, or recognition.
  • If a relationship brings anxiety, understand why it triggers you instead of just blaming the other person. Are you expecting something from others that you're not giving yourself?
  • If you feel drained by the life you're currently living, investigate what truly excites you, then start intentionally shifting your environment and attention towards it.

This can be confronting for some people, because you truly have to begin to take full responsibility for your life and the way you see things.

3 Steps to Conscious Reprogramming

Changing your mindset isn't some mystical event that you have to sit in a cave and become enlighten first. But it does take practice and time.

Here are a few steps to consider:

1. Awareness: Begin by noticing your default thoughts. When negative thoughts appear, become aware of them. Understand your internal narrative clearly before trying to change it. Are you having conversations with others or with yourself? Just begin to watch it, as if you are the observer and you’ll see how the intensity decreases.

2. Intentional Replacement: Once you're aware of your negative patterns, don't suppress them, redirect them. Replace thoughts like, "I hate doing this, I’m no good at it," with empowering ones like, "I’m doing this because I know its good for me, and I know I’m getting better at it each day".

3. Curate Your Environment: Audit what you consume. Every podcast, show, conversation, and social media post shapes your internal dialogue. Replace toxic sources with inspiring content that aligns with your ideal self.

You can't avoid programming, it's happening anyway.

But now, you can consciously shape it.

What reality do you want your mind to reinforce?

The mind isn't a servant, it's a partner. Train it well, and it will transform your life.

Recognize when external forces attempt to shape your thoughts, then reclaim your attention by actively choosing what enters your mental garden.

It’s up to you to decide: Will you shape your mind, or will you let the world shape it for you?

Either way, your life depends on it.
